Where to Eat Before Your Next Concert

We're always asked where to grab a bite before seeing a concert all over the city! Here's some great options before your next show.

MSG

Hidden Leaf (Manhattan West, Manhattan)

We LOVED the lamb chops, shrimp and pea dumplings, and lamb dumplings.

Zou Zous

Zou Zous (Manhattan West, Manhattan)

Everything is great and the vibes are stunning! Get the whipped ricotta (we got all 5 dips), hot kasseri cheese, lamb, and duck borek. Also, OMG the desserts are WOW do not miss.

Piggyback

Piggyback (Chelsea, Manhattan)

We were really impressed with this spot. It's from the same team behind Pig & Khao. Get the lumpia, honey butter wings, fried pho, wanton mee, fried chicken, and steak with bone marrow.

Katsuya (Manhattan West, Manhattan)

Give us crispy rice, or give us nothing! Also order the wagyu gyoza, shrimp tempura roll, butter crab roll, and short rib.

Barclays

Crown Club

Crown Club (Prospect Heights, Brooklyn)

This is from the same restaurant group as Carbone! So you can try their famous spicy rigatoni. It's only open to court side guests for Nets games, but for concerts you can make a reservation or even try walk-ins!

Fausto

Fausto (Park Slope, Brooklyn)

You'll find great drinks and pasta here, in a cozy spot! Get the focaccia, burrata, little gem salad, and any of their pastas!

Rucola (Boerum Hill, Brooklyn)

They change their menu seasonally, but they're serving amazing plates in a cozy spot. Don't skip the pastas.

Radio City

Burger Joint (Midtown, Manhattan)

Nothing like a speakeasy serving an amazing burger hidden inside a nice hotel!

Quality Bistro (Midtown, Manhattan)

What to get: The butter service, Moroccan chicken, french onion soup, corn creme brulee, steak, escargot.

Quality Italian (Midtown, Manhattan)

Get the chicken parm pizza! We even ordered it on Goldbelly to our parents in CT because we were craving it so badly!

Monkey Bar

Monkey Bar (Midtown, Manhattan)

We love Monkey Bar because the Hogsalt group took over the kitchen (4 Charles, Au cheval team) so the food is really good. The vibes are also amazing and feel like old school New York because the restaurant has been around since the early 1920s. What to get: Signature Burger, french dip, steak + sides (known for their bacon, creamed spinach).

Webster Hall

Soothr (East Village, Manhattan)

This is one of our favorite spots in the city for Thai food. Just do yourself a favor and order one of everything! This place has hands down the best pad see ew you can get, it comes with beef and you can't change it. The chicken khao soi is so flavorful and filling, you want this on a cold day.

Ruby’s Cafe (East Village, Manhattan)

Get the burger and truffle fries!!!

Claud

Claud (East Village, Manhattan)

One of the best new restaurants of this year! Their goal is to make you feel like you're dining in Europe. Get the escargot croquettes, red shrimp, mille feuille, agnolotti, and the devils food for dessert!

Brooklyn Steel

Anthony & Sons (Williamsburg, Brooklyn)

They have some WILD sandwich creations. There isn't really room to sit and eat here. We recommend splitting a sandwich with your fellow concert goer and then eat it while you walk to Brooklyn Steel! We like the Matt & Steve 2.0!!

Win Son (East Williamsburg, Brooklyn)

Get the lu rou fan, pork buns, chicken bun, fried eggplant, street salad, scallion pancakes, and the oyster omelet if you're feeling adventurous!

Paulie Gees (Greenpoint, Brooklyn)

Get 1 slice of freddy prinze and 1 slice of hellboy and you'll be good to go!

Pier 17

The Tin Building (Seaport, Manhattan)

This is a new spot by Jean-Georges so we haven't had a chance to check it out, but it's at the top of our list! It looks so nice from what we've seen!

Malibu Farm (Seaport, Manhattan)

Great farm to table spot! You can't go wrong here!

Crown Shy (FiDi, Manhattan)

Go to this 1 Michelin star spot for their olive pull apart bread that comes free with the meal. The space is gorgeous and the service is top notch.

Beacon Theatre

Red Farm

Red Farm (UWS, Manhattan)

You can't go wrong with any of their classic dishes, but whatever you do get the pastrami egg rolls!

The Ribbon (UWS, Manhattan)

Eating here before seeing a show at the Beacon is such a classic NYC night! We love their dressed eggs and escargot, and you can't go wrong with any of their classic mains!

Brooklyn Mirage

Falansai (Bushwick, Brooklyn)

Not a ton of restaurant options in this area, but we love this spot. A great tasting menu for ~$80 per person. You can also reserve a whole animal to be cooked ahead of him. The menu changes often but we love the egg rolls and their iced coffee drink.

Queen

Queen (Bushwick, Brooklyn)

This is also a super close walk to House of Yes! The mezze is all excellent, but the schnitzel sandwich can't be missed!

Ichiran (Bushwick, Brooklyn)

Such a cool experience here! Perfect spot for a cold New York night before a concert!

Honeys (East Williamsburg, Brooklyn)

This is a great spot to go for cocktails and light bites before a show!

Bowery Ballroom

Ten Bells (LES, Manhattan)

We're huge natural wine fans so LOVE it here! They have sooo many tapas to choose from. We're fans of the boquerones, jamon pantomaca, papas bravas, and croquettes.

Sel Rrose (LES, Manhattan)

Such a cute spot, also great for a first date! Don't skip the oysters, truffle fries, croquettes, burrata, or steak tartare.

Rubirosa (Nolita, Manhattan)

Promise us you'll get the tie-dye pie!!!

8282 (LES, Manhattan)

We love the tuna tartare, octopus, fried chicken, and the hanger steak. Also, trust us when we say get the vanilla ice cream with honey and parm for dessert!
