2024 Top 15 New NYC Restaurants
OUR TOP 15 NEW RESTAURANTS IN NYC FOR 2024 watch the video here!
#15 Smithereens in the East Village - A super fun spot serving playful dishes with big flavors from a chef who used to cook at Claud’s. They categorize themselves as a “New England style seafood restaurant” and the lobster roll was one of our favorite bites, but don’t skip the beans.
#14 Borgo in Nomad - They’re serving cozy Northern Italian food and we really enjoyed this meal. Comes from the same team as Marlow & Sons in Brooklyn. Check our our review here.
#13 Gotham in LES and Greenpoint - We followed Chef Mike years ago when he was serving smashburgers from different popups in NYC and we’re so happy this year he finally opened, not 1, but 2 burger shops for us to eat at! Truly one of our favorite NYC smashburgers. Check out our review here.
#12 Kisa in LES - A tiny shop off of Houston serving a set price $32 Korean feast. It’s from the same team as C as in Charlie and we loved all the banchan. Such a great deal! Check out our review here.
#11 Twin Tails in Columbus Circle - This one surprised us because we weren’t huge fans of its sister restaurant, Bad Roman, sitting just steps away in Columbus Circle. It’s a Southeast Asian / Thai menu and we truly didn’t have a bad bite. Check out our review here.
#10 Lion’s Bar in the East Village - We recommend Lion’s Bar to literally everyone who is looking for a good martini, burger, and chill vibes. It’s like if Bernie’s in Brooklyn was better. We are obsessed. Check out our review here.
#9 Levant in Queens - A Middle Eastern culinary gem that was written up this year in the New York Times is serving authentic Egyptian food. We loved their mixed meat feteer (it’s sort of a middle eastern pizza meets quesadilla!) and their wraps.
#8 Chrissy’s in Greenpoint - Might be considered the hardest to get pizza in NYC because before this year, Chrissy’s was serving pizza out of a restaurant in the East Village. They finally have their own shop and we waited 2 hours for a pizza on opening week… worth it. Check out our review here.
#7 Sip&Guzzle in the West Village - Inspired by its sister bar, Tokyo’s SG Club in Japan, it’s a bi-level bar with two distinct experiences: 'Sip,' a high end lounge in the basement, and 'Guzzle,' a more casual eatery on the ground floor. The chef, formerly at Alinea, is making really cool dishes like 'electric' chicken and a $150 sandwich made with A5 wagyu. Check out our review here.
#6 Bungalow in the East Village - The latest venture from the team behind GupShup, its giving Indian vintage clubhouse. We loved every bite here, truly such great Indian food. It was recognized by the Michelin Guide and is definitely hard to grab a reservation at now. Check out our review here.
#5 Coqodaq in Flatiron - This is the latest venture from Simon Kim, the mastermind behind Cote. It’s an upscale Korean fried chicken spot and rmor has it they spent YEARS perfecting their chicken recipe. Their signature Bucket List comes with crispy chicken, banchan, cold noodles, and dessert - we’re obsessed. Check out our review here.
#4 Penny in the East Village - The Claud team’s newest restaurant venture is a raw bar that sits right upstairs. We love the seafood counter vibe and loved the stuffed squid and dover sole. Check out our review here.
#3 Massara in Flatiron - We can’t believe how good the pasta at Massara is from the team behind the Michelin-starred Rezdôra. The restaurant has a wood-burning oven that was transported by boat from Italy and they’re serving pizzettes made with a 35-year-old Italian starter. The genovese ragu brought tears to our eyes. Check out our review here.
#2 Le Veau D’or on UES - This historic French bistro first opened in 1937 and this year was restored by the Frenchette team. The classic French dishes were amazing and the vibes make you feel like you’re in Paris. Check out our review here.
#1 Theodora in Fort Greene - We didn’t have a single bad bite at Theodora and if you enjoy seafood and/or Mediterranean food, you have to dine here. It’s the latest gem from the chef behind Miss Ada. Their dry-aged steelhead trout and za’atar kubaneh are insane. Check out our review here.
