2024 Top CT Bites
If you didn’t already know, we grew up in Glastonbury, CT so we are always heading back home for the holidays, summers, and to see friends/family. We try to snack throughout the state so these are the 11 best bites we had in the nutmeg state in 2024!
Plus here’s a few Connecticut focused videos you can check out:
#11 Blueberry Bagel with butter from A.M. Bagel in Derby - This spot has been voted best bagel in the state in previous years. While we found the bagel sandwiches to be just OK this was a flavorful, sweet blueberry filled bagel and it had a lovely chew!
#10 Grilled Clams from The Place in Guilford - We grew up eating at The Place. It is a seasonal restaurant where they have a massive open fire grill where they cook seafood, corn in the husk, and our favorite, grilled clams with butter and cocktail sauce. Watch our review.
#9 Brisket from Hoodoo Brown BBQ - There’s definitely some great BBQ in CT and Hoodoo Brown’s brisket cut like butter and tasted great. Watch us review it here.
#8 Sausage and peppers from Lobster Landing (not the lobster roll this year!) - You already know this is our #1 lobster roll in CT and their sausage and peppers surprised us. See us try it here!
#7 Turkey Reuben with a pickle from Rein’s Deli in Vernon - Whenever we remember how good Rein’s is we head over to Vernon to grab a turkey reuben and a half sour pickle. It never disappoints. Here’s our order.
#6 Salted butter roll from BouNom Bakery in Avon - The best bakery in CT!!! You can’t go wrong with any pastry here but if you can snag a warm salted butter roll, do it!
#5 Kickin’ Chicken from Battimelli's A&S Italian Fine Foods in Fairfield - The kickin’ chicken can be found at their Fairfield store and we like it on a seeded hero with fresh mozzarella. Trust us.
#4 Broccoli Salad from Kawa Ni in Westport - We didn’t expect to have a salad so high on our list but WOW is this good!! Our full order can be found in this video.
#3 Sunday Brisket Sandwich from Julien’s in Granby - After so many of you recommended Julien’s for their baked goods like donuts and cinnamon rolls, we had to make the trip. But to our surprise, the Sunday only brisket egg sandwich was what impressed us most. See what else we tried!
#2 Cheese Pie from Roseland Pizza in Derby - Connecticut is the pizza capital of the world so we love finding new places. Roseland is special. We need to sit down for a full Italian feast but grab a pie to go and you won’t be mad. Pizza review!
#1. Crispy Chicken and Fettuccine from Grano Arso in Chester - New to us this year is Grano Arso in the cutest town of Chester (it feels like a Hallmark movie). Their homemade pasta is exquisite! Here’s what to get…
